50 Cent’s ex girlfriend Daphne Joy has recently accused the rapper of rape and physical abuse after he filed legal paperwork to gain sole custody of their 12-years-old son. The rapper 50 Cent aka Curtis James Jackson, however, denied all allegations against him.
50 Cent, breaking silence, said, “The disturbing allegations in the sworn pleadings recently filed in a court case related to Daphne Joy, the mother of my 12-year-old child, has required me to take all necessary legal actions to protect my son Sire,” the rapper, 48, said in a statement on Thursday, March 28. “The most recent false and baseless accusations by Daphne Joy are clearly in response to my decision to seek sole custody of my son. My son Sire is my main priority and keeping him in a safe environment is my only focus at this time.”
50 Cent’s reply came shortly after her ex-girlfriend Joy penned a complaint on instagram on Thursday. “Let’s put the real focus on your true evil actions of raping me and physically abusing me”, She claimed. “You are no longer my oppressor and my God will handle you from this point on.”
Who is Daphne Joy?
Daphne Joy, known for her relationship with 50 Cent and having a son named Sire with him, faced allegations of working as a sex worker for Sean “Diddy” Combs in a recent lawsuit against the rapper.
Joy, born in the Philippines in 1987, gained fame not just through her famous partners but also as an internet personality with a large following of 1.6 million on Instagram.
50 Cent and Joy were together from 2011 to 2012 and had their son Sire, who is now 12 years old, soon after they broke up. The rapper also has another son named Marquise, who is 27 years old, from a previous relationship with Shaniqua Tompkins.
Joy and 50 Cent’s disagreement about who should have custody of their young child comes after accusations surfaced in a lawsuit, claiming that she was one of three women accused of working as sex workers for Combs, who is 54 years old.
Daphne Joy’s Accusation
Daphne took to instagram and alleged, “Curtis James Jackson. Everything is a joke to you until our safety is compromised, which is happening now. You are wreaking real havoc, frenzy and chaos onto people’s lives. How could u feel if Sire was the one in handcuffs? For nothing.”
She added, “We moved to New York to give you the opportunity to be a father to your son and you saw him 10 times out of the 2 years that we lived 1 mile away from you. I am tired of upholding and protecting an image of our son that you have never even earned. Let’s put the real focus on your true evil actions of raping me and physically abusing me. You are no longer my oppressor and my God will handle you from this point on. You have permanently damaged the last hope I had for you as a father to preserve our family with these last and final false slams made against me. You have broken our hearts for the last and final time.”
50 Cent says these accusations made by Daphne Joy came up because he’s asking for full custody of their son.
In 2013, 50 Cent was accused of hurting Joy and admitted to a smaller offense of breaking her things and causing trouble after supposedly kicking her. He made an agreement with Los Angeles officials to serve three years of probation and do 30 days of community work.
Why is 50 Cent Seeking Sole Custody of His Son Now?
50 Cent reportedly wants full custody of his child after Daphne Joy’s name came up in Rodney Jones’s lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs. Rodney’s lawsuit accuses the music mogul of sex trafficking and abuse. Joy is mentioned as someone who supposedly got paid for sex work with the founder of Bad Boy Records.
However, Joy has denied the accusations, posting on Instagram, “I am deeply hurt by the lies in Rodney Jones’ lawsuit. The claim that I am a sex worker is 100% false and character assassination. I am retaining an attorney to explore all legal remedies against both Rodney and his attorney.”
