Grammy Awards Ceremony 2024 was held on Sunday night at Crypto.com Arena at Los Angeles

The 66th annual Grammy Award show was staged at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California on Saturday night. The best Music award show was hosted by Trevor Noah for the fourth consecutive years. Some big names in the music and movie industry attended the show making it pompous and successful. They included SZA, who had nine nominations for her album “SOS”, Victoria Monét, Phoebe Bridgers, Taylor Swift and many more.

We witnessed an awesome first-ever live performance by Joni Mitchell, 80, a nominee tonight and nine times Grammy winner, during the show. Her live album ‘Joni Mitchell in Newport’ is up for best folk album. Travis Scott was another performer who set the stage on fire with three of his songs.

We found intense competition this year among the top music talents of Hollywood particularly when SGA led all nominees with nine nominations and artists like Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo and Victoria Monét were set to vie for the top positions. Most of these music talents contested Album of the Year category, including SZA (SOS), Swift (Midnights), Rodrigo (Guts), Miley Cyrus (Endless Summer Vacation), boygenius (The Record), and Jon Batiste (World Music Radio). They were joined by Janelle Monáe (The Age of Pleasure) and Lana Del Rey (Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd) as well.

Another remarkable artist this year was Phoebe Bridgers who secured an early lead at the 66th Grammy Award ceremony by claiming four trophies quickly prior to main telecast along with her boygenius bandmates infusing a lively atmosphere. She also received the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award from host and songwriter Justine Tranter alongside SZA for their collaboration on “Ghost in the Machine.”

Taylor Swift, the music diva, continued her domination in the music industry achieving yet another milestone. She is the first artist in history who won a grammy for ‘Album of the Year’ four times and this time for her performance in “Midnights”. She received

the honor from  Céline Dion, who made a surprise appearance as presenter following her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis. Taylor Swift also took home the best pop vocal album. She made an announcement during the Grammy on Sunday night about her next album “Tortured Poets Department” which is set to release on April 19, 2024.

Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday night witnessed a triumph for the female artists as pop sensation Taylor Swift, R&B artist SZA, and pop singer Miley Cyrus emerged as winners. ‘Girl Power’ dominated this year’s top honors in the music industry, highlighting their significant contributions and achievements

It was a memorable night for Miley Cyrus, too. She clinched her first-ever Grammy Award for best pop solo performance. She received it from none other than Mariah Carey. Finally, she put on an energy-filled performance of ‘Flowers’ just to wake the audience up.

Three new categories were introduced in the 66th Grammy Award. The first one among those was for ‘Best Pop Dance Recording’ and it went to Kylie Minogue for “Padam Padam”, marking her first win in 18 years.

This year 80 Grammys were awarded before the main broadcast including the one for ‘Best Música Mexicana Album’ to recognise a regional Mexican star Peso Pluma. He claimed his first-ever Grammy award for the album “Genesis”, his debut and sole nomination.

Sunday’s Grammy Award night witnessed another worth-mentioning victory when Coco Jones, a rising star, emerged winner in a highly competitive category for the best R&B performance at the Grammys, claiming the award for her song “ICU”. The fierce competition included SZA’s “Kill Bill” and Victoria Monét’s “How Does It Make You Feel”. SZA secured her second trophy of the evening by taking home the best progressive R&B album award for “S.O.S.”

Billie Eilish was shocked when she and Finneas were awarded a Grammy for ‘Song of the Year’ for her ‘Barbie’ soundtrack offering “What Was I Made For?”.

“That was a crazy list of incredible people … incredible music,” Eilish said as she took the stage with her brother Finneas. “I’m shocked out of my balls.” She thanked Finneas and praised Barbie director Greta Gerwig for “making the best movie of the year”.

‘Barbie’ grabbed another Grammy in the category of Compilation Soundtrack in the afternoon.

“On My Mama” singer Victoria Monét was awarded a Grammy as ‘The best new artist’ at the Grammy Awards 2024. She was nominated for seven categories on Sunday night. She used her acceptance speech to describe her journey in Hollywood. In a message to “everybody who has a dream”, Said Monét, “I want you to look at this as an example . . . this award was a 15-year pursuit.”
